Dear Ms. Morrison:

We regret the delay in responding to your earlier request for a copy of the Choctaw Criminal Codes and the resolution revoking the right to pass out political literature on Choctaw lands from this office.

Enclosed is a copy of Choctaw Council Bill 138-91 which was adopted on August 10, 1991, wherein it states that the Choctaw Nation adopted 25 CFR Part 11 with the following proviso to Section 11.55:

"Provided, however, this section shall not apply to any establishment owned and operated by the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma on Tribal land."

To our knowledge, this resolution has not been rescinded nor has the Choctaw Nation adopted an alternative code.

This office does not maintain copies of the all the resolutions passed by the Choctaw Tribal Council; therefore, we are unable to furnish you with a copy of the specific resolution you are seeking. You may wish to check with our Talihina Agency to see if they maintain such copies that could be furnished to you.
